Resources to Help with Managing Debt

In addition to saving for long-term goals like retirement, your financial wellness plan should include strategies to manage debt. Whether you’re starting an emergency fund, increasing your savings over time, or looking for ways to reduce expenses, you may need assistance along your journey. Check out:

Tech Tools to Boost Financial Wellness
Many people use a Fitbit® to track their physical fitness. Our Digital Resources work in a similar way with many convenient tools at your fingertips to help you manage your retirement savings account. Whether you're online or on the go, stay informed with these helpful tools to keep you in the know. Easily sign up for features like TextAccess, where you can request certain account information and have it sent directly to your mobile phone via text.

Update Beneficiaries
An important yet often forgotten part of financial wellness is ensuring your beneficiary designations are up to date. Log into your ICMA-RC account to make sure the beneficiaries and designations listed still match your wishes. Be sure to check your designations for your other financial accounts, insurance policies, and estate documents, too.

Fund Performance Available Online
For added convenience with account management, quarterly fund performance information currently shown on statements has been moved exclusively online. This information continues to be available in Account Access, along with links to more detailed fund profile and expense information. With online accessibility, you can easily see the most up-to-date fund information and more details about the investment options in your plan. For even more convenience with your statements, sign up for eDelivery of your quarterly statements and other financial documents, so you can receive an email when your documents are available.

Tax Filing Due Date Extended
Another key part of your finances is filing income taxes. The good news for many is that the filing due date for individuals for the 2020 tax year has been extended from April 15, 2021, to May 17, 2021. This means you have a few additional weeks to file before the deadline!
